Reel of Hope - Calgary, Alberta
Our dancers traveled to Calgary for their first competition of the year at the beginning of the month. All dancers performed their ultimate best and were very happy with their results.
As part of the weekend festivities there was an extra competition dancers could take part in called The Reel of Hope. The entry fees for this particular competition was donated to The Calgary's Children's Hospital.
Dancers had a couple of rules to abide by, such as;
1) Dancing in all black attire,
2) Creating a choreography of 32 bars in reel time,
3) Dancers could dance solo or teams, soft shoe or hardshoe
Two dancers from our school Kaelyn and Mikayla worked together and created a Treble Reel two hand. These two dancers melted the hearts of the toe tapping adjudicators and clapping crowd. Both girls were presented with a glass perpetual trophy. These two dancers will engrave their names on the trophy and share between the two of them for one year.
Congratulations to all dancers for taking part in such a fabulous event, and raise awareness of such an important cause.
